The DCRN + NU Commons

The Digital Cities Research Network aims to bring people together from across Northeastern’s global network and beyond. It is led by:

  • Dr Olly Ayers (Senior Lecturer in History at NCH in London)
  • Dr Dan O’Brien (Associate Professor and Director of the Boston Area Research Initiative, CSSH)
  • Patrick Yott (Associate Dean for Digital Strategies, NU Library)

It is supported by a $50,000 grant from NU’s TIER 1 research development scheme.

Based across Boston and London and tapping into expertise from across NU’s global network, it seeks to combine digital data of various types, from the archives and documents most often used by digital humanists with the large scale data more often used by computational social scientists. In February of 2021, we hosted our first event and look forward to hosting a plenary for Northeastern and NCH on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at 2:30- 4:30pm GMT (9:30-11:30am EST).

This NU Commons page will seek to grow and enable these connections in the coming months. Once the page is updated, faculty and staff from Northeastern and NCH will be able to collaborate, meet, and interact across the Atlantic in a social-media style environment.
